Laptop problems, described the way you actually see them
Each section below describes a symptom, what people typically notice, and what is worth mentioning when you make an enquiry. Nothing here is a diagnosis — a laptop has to be checked physically before that is possible.
Dedicated repair guides
Choose the problem or laptop brand
These pages explain what the symptom may mean, what should be tested, compatibility questions and the factors that affect repair cost. Choose the closest match rather than guessing which component has failed.
Nothing happens on pressing power, or lights come on but the screen stays blank.
A laptop that does not start can point to the adapter, the battery, the power circuit or the display. This is not something that can be identified accurately over a phone call, so the laptop needs to be checked physically. Tell us what you see — any lights, sounds or fan movement — when you press the power button.
Boot takes minutes, the cursor lags, or programs freeze during normal work.
Slow performance can come from storage health, limited RAM, background software or an operating system that needs attention. Mentioning when the slowdown started and whether it happens on specific applications helps narrow it down during checking.
Visible lines or spots, flickering, a dim screen, or a display that stays black.
Display symptoms can involve the panel, the display cable or the graphics side of the board. If the laptop has been dropped or the lid has been pressed, mention it — it changes what needs to be checked first.
Some keys do not work, characters repeat by themselves, or the trackpad ignores input.
Keyboard and trackpad faults are sometimes physical and sometimes driver related. If any liquid was spilled on the laptop, stop using it and tell us at the time of the enquiry.
The charging light does not come on, or charging works only at a certain cable angle.
Charging faults involve the adapter, the cable, the charging port or the battery circuit. Bring the original adapter along with the laptop at the time of pickup so both can be checked together.
Backup drops within minutes, or the laptop switches off when unplugged.
Battery behaviour changes with age and usage. If the base of the laptop or the trackpad looks raised, treat it as a swollen battery, stop charging the laptop and mention it clearly when you contact us.
The body becomes very hot, the fan runs constantly, or the laptop shuts down under load.
Heat build-up is commonly linked to dust, airflow and thermal contact, though software load also plays a part. Note whether the heating happens during specific tasks or all the time.
The system reports no bootable device, or file access becomes unusually slow.
If the data on the drive matters to you, say so at the very start of the enquiry so the laptop is handled with that in mind. Avoid running repeated recovery attempts on a drive that is behaving abnormally.
The laptop works, but feels short on memory or storage speed.
Upgrade options depend on the exact model and what the board supports. Share the brand and model number, and what you mainly use the laptop for, so the enquiry can be answered properly.
The lid does not stay in position, or the casing has separated near the hinge.
Hinge problems tend to worsen quickly because the display cable runs close to the hinge area. Using the laptop less until it is checked is generally sensible.
These categories describe the kinds of enquiries handled. Whether a specific laptop can be repaired, and what that involves, is decided only after the machine has been checked.
Not sure which one it is?
Describe it in your own words.
Tell us what happens when you switch the laptop on and where you are located in Ahmedabad. That is enough to begin.
